Goodbye Chemistry. RIP

I am going to miss chemistry a lot. I don't know why, but studying for the final was really emotional. I have no idea why. I thought I didn't like this class?

Is it because I know it's basically the last time I will EVER use this stuff.

Is it because my seat partner is amazing?

Is it because the teacher was awesome?

I don't know, but I do know I'd take this class again as a TA or something. I wish I could take Chem AP.

Goodbye Chemistry. I hope you rest in peace with you equations and laws.

RIP CHEMISTRY HONORS PERIOD 2. TUESDAY, JUNE 22, 2010

My Story

I guess my new endeavor is to write a short story or novel. Not sure which. Here are the first few paragraphs. PLEASE CRITICIZE!

It is sort of based on people I know, but kind of original too.

Chapter 1

“Welcome Back Eagles!”, the voice distinct, “Hope you all had a FABULOUS summer!” I finally realized I’m a senior. I’ve been stuck here for three long years and this final one couldn’t have come fast enough. The announcements whined in the background while I stared at Kaitlyn White. A dirty blonde with hazel eyes, she was a dream.

“Let’s all have a GREAT year Eagles! Talk to you tomorrow!” My trance interrupted. The speaker clicked.

How many more days do I need to listen to that screechy Megan Nelson giving us the “Eagle’s Events!” during my favorite class? I can’t stand it.

“Hey Jason!”

“Oh, hey Taylor.” God I want to kill him. Three years with this kid. Why must he ruin Advanced Acting my senior year too?

“What’s up!” He tries to give me a hug but I back away. I don’t want to catch any of the handful of diseases he’s bound to have.

“Oh, nothing much. Just the usual summer stuff. I went to see some colleges and all, nothing fun. What about you?”

“Same here dude, I think I wanna go to UC Merced!” I laugh in my head. UC Merced. That’s a joke. You’d have to kill me for me to say I wanted to go to University of California at Merced. Who even knows where Merced is? But it’s perfect for him.

“Oh, I could see that.” He doesn’t catch the sarcasm, but it’s okay. I don’t know the last time I looked at him without wanting to stab him. It all started freshman year. He was a player. A major player. He used girls and he used them like toys.

During freshman year he had the nerve to two-time Natalie and this other girl Allie who were sophomores then. Taylor was so oblivious that he thought the girls wouldn’t talk but they did and they caught him. They caught him bad. Apparently he started crying and begged for forgiveness. Does it make me an awful person that it made my day? Sort of.

I would bet they’ve all slept with him and they just won’t tell me. All the girls swoon over him for some reason I can’t comprehend. They’d all trade in their freedom to be with this guy forever. He isn’t even somewhat attractive.

Since I had the pleasure of seemingly being bound to Taylor by fate I have been in six shows with him and I have two more to look forward to. Kill me now. He is loud and obnoxious and overenthusiastic and perverted and he has all the qualities cocky guys have.

I told my friend Natalie I had a bad feeling about Taylor during my freshman year. What can I say? I have good senses of losers. Natalie was the most awesome girl you’d ever meet. She kept me grounded and knocked some sense in my head, but now she goes to the University of Alabama, and I’m more alone than before.

“Jason!” I knew it was Kaitlyn’s voice right away. She called me her best guy friend but I’m not proud of that title. “Long time no see!” Sarcasm. I saw her last week when we saw a movie with friends. I was on one end, her on the complete other. Just my luck.

“Kaitlyn!” I yell and I pick her up and spin her around. It’s kind of our little thing we do since she is so tiny. She’s about 5’1, but she doesn’t like being called short. I guess everyone has their insecurities. Taylor’s over-the-top scream echoes through the theatre. “Why does he have to be in this class?”

“Don’t worry, we’ll have fun. We’re finally seniors!” Her voice sounds different than last year, but I can’t decide what it is. Maybe we’re just getting older.

“I know. I’m just ready to get out of this place. I have a bad feeling this year is going to take forever.”

“Well we’ll spend this long year together then! So what do you think about the new kids?”

“Whatever, I could care less about them. They don’t suck, so as long as they don’t piss me off I’m good. How about you?”

“I think that new blonde boy’s hot. Liam?”

“Oh yeah, I saw him last year in drama. He’s.... okay I guess.”

“Yea, we’ll see how it goes with him. I’m gonna go say hi! Wish me luck!” And there she went. Strutting away from me, staring into his stupid blue eyes. Why can’t she look at me like that. She just met him and she would already go in a corner alone with him.

The drama room is full with all twenty-five of us drama geeks, but it’s empty to me. It isn’t like last year with Natalie and all the new college freshman who left, because now I feel alone. Of course there’s Kaitlyn but she’s different. She’s complicated. I’ve known her since freshman year and I’ve always liked her for some reason. It feels like the right time. I gotta make a move this year.

“Jaaaa-sonnn!” Jessica yells at me in her loud voice, “I can’t believe it! Seniors!” I think I should start a count at how many times I’ll hear that I’m a senior today. “Wasn’t that movie last week soooooo funny!?” I have to tolerate Jessica’s obnoxious, but occasionally lovable attitude since she’s best friends with Kaitlyn. She can work magic on Kaitlyn, but she can never get us together. But trust me, she wants to help. “So how’s Kaitlyn?” She gives me an exaggerated wink. She’s known about my high school crush since freshman year.

“She’s already in love with that kid over there,” I stared at Liam and hoped he would disappear but I know he won’t, “It’ll never happen. I’m gonna try and move on.”

“We all know how that worked out last year.”

“This year I will. I just need to realize it’s never going to happen. That she is just too out of my league.”

“Don’t do it yet. I’ll try and work the good old Jessica magic. She’ll like you by homecoming, don’t worry.”

“You know how I am.” And she does. I worry. A lot. I always seem to think of the worst case scenario. I never look on the bright side when it comes to Kaitlyn. Maybe Jessica is right, maybe I do need to think positively for once.

“Ah! It’s the three of us during senior year! I can’t believe it!” Kaitlyn’s back and that brings my senior reminder count to three. She turns to me and whispers, “Oh, and Liam’s nice, but I don’t know. Kind of a douche.”

I smile to myself and I know that’s where I have the advantage. Here’s something you should know about me. I’m the standard nice guy who’s stuck in the friend zone. I’m always the one who is best friends with the girl everyone likes but never, and I mean never the boyfriend. High school isn’t like the movies. The nice guy doesn’t come out on top. “Well that’s uncommon Kaitlyn. Douche bags invading the class. Never would have guessed.”

“Shut up Jason. I just thought he was hot! That’s all.”

“Whatever you say Kaitlyn. Maybe he’ll be your first kiss.” That’s another weird thing about Kaitlyn. She hasn’t had her first kiss yet. She hasn’t even had a boyfriend. That’s not to say there aren’t guys after her, but she’s too picky.

She stares at me with her self proclaimed “death eyes” even though she knows I always return the look. Kaitlyn walks away with her sly grin and goes and talks to Liam. She knows I don’t like it but nobody cares what I think. Jessica just shrugs and follows Kaitlyn. I’m such an idiot. I guess I should start moving on now.

HOPE YOU LIKED IT!

Update: ONE WEEK

ONE WEEK TIL I AM DONE WITH MY FIRST YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL!
19 DAYS UNTIL HAWAII!

I can't believe this year is over, well.... actually I can. It has been a LONG school year. It seems like years when band camp started. A whole year basically. CRAZY. So much has happened. I've learned so much about myself and my maturity. I couldn't comprehend how much freshman year would do for me a year ago, and I think sophomore year will be even better.

I can't even imagine my senior year, but it will be here before I know it. Sad. And guess what's even sadder.... I started looking at colleges. It's depressing. I won't get into a lot of these because I won't take Science APs since it conflicts with Play Prod. I think I would go to Princeton in I got in. That's my reach :/ Notre Dame and Duke would be AMAZING to do as well. Maybe Georgetown too.

I realized that I loved theatre this year.... but I also realized it is something I could never do with my life. It won't support a family and it isn't a worthwhile major in college.
Economics.
Is that what I'll do? Maybe. I looked into it and it seems fun. I don't wanna major in science. Maybe english, but where will that take me? I'd love to do the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown just like mon pere but I don't think I'd get in. Maybe.

SO MANY MAYBES.

These will be the ???? on my mind until I get the coveted acceptance letters....

WHY AM I THINKING ABOUT THIS NOW. STOP. STOP. STOP.

I want a good future. Please God, I am BEGGING YOU.

Okay done with my college visions. what now. what can I talk about.

COLLEGE.

no... not college.

MAJORS

... no not that either

School

.... too similar to college.....

what else....

nothing.

School will do.... I have finals next week. I need straight A's to realize my COLLEGE goals. No I just said college. CROSS IT OUT. COLLEGECOLLEGECOLLEGECOLLEGECEOLLEGE

Blah.

I'm done.

My AHMAZING Summer!

As you probably guessed, this blog is going to be all about my summer! And this summer is gonna be the BEST EVER!

We'll go over the lame stuff first. Summer classes online. That is a lame thing. I'm working on my first (out of THREE) semesters, but I could really call them trimesters. I'm gonna be working on that a lot.

Also, I have THREE books I need to read for English 2 Honors, which is gonna be a buzzkill to the summertime experience. But good thing I have LOTS of time on planes to read!

Now off to the fun stuff. I have an AMAZING cousin, Grace, who lives in Connecticut, but she is my California buddy. My dad is letting her come along to.... DRUM ROLL.....
.....
.....
.....
....
HAWAII!!!!!!!

MY FIRST TIME EVER TO HAWAII!!!! WOOHOO!
We're going to Oahu, and that is also where my FAVORITE show ever is filmed.... LOST!
We are gonna be gone forever!! I'm moving! That's the big announcement.

No... I'm not, I know, you wish I was moving, but too bad.
We are going from July 6th-15th and we're staying at the Hale Koa Hotel, which is a military hotel, but it is actually a luxury hotel where only military people can stay, and that is my dad! So we're gonna stay there and do everything we can do, which will be laying out every day and going to do other fun Hawaiian things! If you've been to Hawaii before, TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD DO!

So yea, that is what I'm doing after school ends, so we leave in like 30 days! Craziness!

Next on my summer schedule is BOY SCOUT 2010 NATIONAL JAMBOREE!

This is another amazing thing that I can't wait for. It is in Virginia, but the week before the actual jamboree, we get to tour the northeast and be tacky tourists. I'm going with kids from Torrance and Whittier, and we're called TROOP 819 and we got a patch with the LA Kings logo on it.

The BSA Jamboree is an event where scouts from all over the country come and have fun for TEN STRAIGHT DAYS. Sound nerdy? Heck yea. But it is gonna be a great 15 days total. And it will also be fifteen days you will be without this crazy blog.

What else will my summer bring me? WHO KNOWS! Something amazing hopefully. We'll see and you'll hear about it for sure.

Random Blog #1

I am kind of into blogging today, so deal with it. I am gonna write about random things in this blog!

I love my friends. Again, I love my friends. They're awesome and amazing. How could I deserve these people? I don't know, I don't think I do. But they're all great when I need them. They never fail to amaze me or let me down. I hope you stay with me FOREVER.

French Class. FUN TIME. That class would be hell without the amazing people I sit near.
Arielle is great AND Filipino, and she has HILARIOUS ideas
Angela, well she's Angela... but still amazing
Melissa is... well Melissa. She is GREAT and funny and she gave me cake today.
Alice is hilarious too. And she has the same birthday as me!
Natalia is so small but so nice, she gives me popsicles too, which is a plus.

Drama is fun, and I learned I have a love for spray bottles.

That is all.

Pppppppp PLAY PROD!

I hate making these things public, and please, I'm not bragging. I made it into Play Prod, but I needed to say this because it will most likely play a role in my blog over the next year.

There are SO MANY people that made it in, some may say too many, and I would agree. My argument is that Play Prod, or PP, is known as an exclusive class and some people who weren't the best singers and/or actors got in.

I know I'm not the best, which I why I was worried! I was scared I wouldn't get in because my singing wasn't amazing, but I did.

Next year is gonna be great, but trust me, it is gonna be FILLED with drama, and not the theatre kind.

I am gonna have moments where I regret it, and some moments where I want to shoot someone, but I'll get over them, I always do.

The class is gonna be wild and crazy with a whopping (as of now....) 35 people, but some people are bound to drop the class by next September.

I got some great friends in that class and this year will just be amazing, I pretty much know it.

So with that, I'm off again. Three blog posts in two days!? Crazy! But if you're out there reading me.... tell me please, I just feel like I'm talking to nobody. I know there's gotta be one.

Beauty and the Beast: The Week From Hell

Welcome to my week from hell, but most possibly, the best week I've ever had. I grew close to SO MANY people it was incredible. This is gonna be a long, emotional blog :p Just warning you.

We got into the theatre on Sunday, and the craziness began... we had tech "rehearsal", which isn't really much rehearsing, but rather standing and doing random things WITHOUT costume. The day was fun, but I saw no progress, although there had to have been SOMETHING happening.

The day went by, and there was a girl... I don't know what happened, it was sudden. Then it went bad, real fast. And it never went good. If you're reading this, I'm not gonna say I'm sorry because you'll get mad, but I'm gonna miss you. We need to talk more :]

Then show days came, and went. So much happened. I grew close to people, I grew apart. Well not apart, I just didn't grow close, but now it seems like I'm far from them. I had so many GREAT experiences in the show and I can't wait for Joseph in January. I guess this didn't need its own post.... but I felt it deserved one. There was so much I know, but I either didn't want everyone in the world to know or I just forgot. But if you have any questions, ask me.

I loved this week and everyone involved. I miss you all so much still. I know I probably won't see you guys all summer, and maybe years for some others! Well I'm gonna go and think of things I forgot, and hopefully write another blog.

Another Month, Another Experience

I feel like blogging has become a monthly ritual instead of daily, but oh well. This WILL be long, I promise. I'll help you out by giving you this blog in FOUR parts: week by week. Here's a summary because don't we all LOVE summaries???

With the help of my best friend who has the best memory (TWITTER!!!) I shall recap.

May 1-8: I went to Olive Garden with my grandma and we saw over a thousand motorcycles on Hawthorne. Exciting? Heck yea! I apparently got a 96% on a math test, so WOOHOO for that one! We had block schedules, which made me want to shank a mini koala.

I finished the AMAZING book "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" which everyone should read. I can't wait to read the next one! I saw the dance show too, which was pretty long, but my friends were in it!

Okay, the next week.... hmmm

May 9-15: I won EVERY SONG Glee has ever released from a contest on Twitter! It was amazing, but it took an entire 9 hours to download.... but worth every minute of it.

FAVORITE SONG EVER! It didn't get released, so I am happy I own it :p

I had Kogi BBQ for lunch one day, which I love. Go to kogibbq.com for more info! I love the Spicy Burrito, it's to die for. Beauty and the Beast was coming up too, so I was busy selling tickets to that, and guess who sold 29 tickets!?!?!? ME!

Okay the next week is really a month in my book, so it'll be LONG and deserves a blog post of its own, coming ASAP! I promise this time!
