Great Weekend

This 3-Day weekend was amazing in so many ways. I got to sleep, I got to go to Disneyland, and I got to meet someone new. BTW everyone, Kelsey says hi to all of you.

So this week is the first week of dance rehearsals so I'm excited. I'm kinda lazy and I am watching TV right now so I'm gonna go.

People

I enjoy thinking. It's fun. That's why I'm a geek. I don't like to think of like school and math, but I like to think about people and stuff. People are interesting. Everyone is so different, and some people are so similar and some so different. Some people are perfect for each other, some aren't. I just like thinking about people. It's fun.

So as I said, yesterday I went to Disneyland with my friend Noelle who is amazing. I love going places with her family, I just laugh so much. They're HILARIOUS. So she brings her friend, Adrianne and we had fun too. I seem to get along with peoples friends a lot.

So we had a TON of fun and I was so tired by the time I got home. I kinda had to squirm my way through all the band kids because I had somewhere to be earlier in the day so I couldn't go with them.

Overall it was exciting, and we might hang out again tomorrow. Who knows? But there is bound to be more news from this to come. Oh yea! And it's Theater Saturday once again!

Grades Grades Grades

Okay Finals are officially over!!! And that means grades SHOULD be in, right? Wrong, some of the teachers are a bit slow with grading but I'll update my grades for you guys right now.

Period 1: Theater Arts 3 97.4%
This is an easy class and anyone who has a B in it should be ashamed.

Period 2: Chemistry 1 H 91%
Okay, I am OVERJOYED by my grade. And I mean OVERJOYED!!! I thought there was no chance to get an A, but I did it!! WOOHOO!!!

Period 3: Alg 2 H 88.8% (Pending)
Okay so first of all she hasn't put in every assignment AND she hasn't graded absent work. So hopefully by the time she puts in part 2 of our final and our homework and our notebook I will have an 89.5%, which is required for an A.

Period 4: English 1 H 94.8%
I am going to say I have a pretty solid A right here. There is still another essay, but I didn't do that bad where is would lower my grade five percent :]

Period 5: Percussion Ensemble 96.2%
This is lower than I thought. I mean how can you not get a 100%, but whatever, I am done with this class FOREVER!!!

Period 6: French 1 93.3%
I didn't study for the final and still got a high B on it. This class is a piece of cake.

Let's hope that my math grade goes up for STRAIGHT A'S!!!! WOOHOO

4 DAYS OF HEAVEN!

Okay, I am very excited! I get four whole days of sleeping in. Yes, it excites me. Tomorrow I'm not going in for 5th period since I don't have any finals that period. So I'll be at school from 10:20 AM to 4 PM, which is pretty great.

I have been really lazy today so nothing new to really report. I took a really long nap if anybody was interested in hearing about that. Today was just pretty normal and ordinary.

SIDE NOTE: Okay, anybody ever get annoyed at someone A LOT? Well I do. Sometimes you just don't want them to pat you on the back or breathe down your neck! Well that's how I feel, like this person is literally pretty creeper. And I'll have to spend a good chunk of high school with him, so lame.

Sorry for the rant, but it was so necessary! I will be up late tonight! WOOHOO

DramaRamaLamaKaDingityDingDeDong

So you all have to know my school is doing GREASE for the spring musical and I am in the ensemble. By the end of this week we will have all our music down and we're gonna start working on choreography next week for a March 23rd Opening Date.

I'm in 7 or 8 numbers (depending if I make it into Greased Lightning). Full Company Numbers are We Go Together, Shakin' at the High School Hop, You're the One That I Want, and Born to Hand Jive. All the guys are in Summer Nights and Those Magic Changes. I am in Grease is the Word with the Pink Ladies, T-Birds and nine other people.

I really like it and it has shown me how much I enjoy musical theater. I like singing, acting, and dancing so it is like a great thing for me. It feels like I finally found that ONE thing I really really enjoy. I've done so much, but it's nice to find something I'm good in and I like. I think I'll stay with drama every year until senior year :]

You'll be hearing A LOT more about Grease the closer and closer March gets. It's a blog about my life and soon Grease will be my life, therefore this blog will be about Grease (yes I had to use math language to say that because I am also studying for my math final!). Well I hope you all like hearing about Grease and other musical theater stuff, because if you don't this really isn't the blog for you! Sorry, but it's true! But please follow me no matter what!

The Weekend!

Okay so I really love the weekend. I get to stay up late and sleep in, there isn't any school, it's just an overall nice experience. This weekend was no exception.

So you all know what I did with my Saturday, so now onto my very uneventful Sunday. I woke up and ate (OOO very fun I know), then I decide I wanna ride my bike. And I need motivation to do that, and my motivation is..... yes you're right! FOODFOODFOODFOODFOOD! So I rode my bike with my neighbor to Menchie's Frozen Yogurt on Artesia. I got like this pomegranate/tart swirl with mochi and Captain Crunch. It was very good.

Then we rode back and I got scared by a mannequin that was in from on Aardvarks. This was not any normal, pale white mannequin. This mannequin had a very nice believable tan. And it was dressed in a crazy Mardi Gras costume. I almost crashed my bike when I saw that thing. FREAKY.

Then I ran around my friends house like twenty times. Not theoretically, but I ACTUALLY ran AROUND the outside of the house, I got pretty tired. We then played Apples to Apples. I ate dinner then I was so excited to go to Target and spend my $25 gift card. Of course what happens when I got there? I forgot my gift card on the kitchen table. Of course, just my luck.

Then I finally got home and started studying for finals. Oh yea! And I memorized my ENTIRE monologue, WOOHOO. Then I got distracted by Facebook and the crazy girl, Kelsey, that I talked about in my last post. HI KELSEY. Next I wrote this blog! I am such a geek.

Theater Saturdays: Week 2

Today was another one of those theater days. So today's dance class was very exhausting. Maybe it was that I didn't really eat much before, but I was like so happy to eat my PB&J afterwards. We learned this Hip-Hop/Broadway combination that I could not understand, but everyone else seemed to. I'm getting way more flexible too thanks to these classes.

The singing class was a lot of fun as usual. I got a new piece, Consider Yourself from Oliver, to perform. There is a new girl too who is pretty great. This one girl, Tess, has such a great voice that I am so blown away by it. I wish I could have the male version of her voice.

Okay back to the topic of Seussical. It was really great, like really great. I mean it wasn't a professional show, but it was way better than I thought it would be. Two of my friends were in it and they did pretty amazing.

The two friends sitting next to me were going crazy over the guy playing The Cat in the Hat. It was pretty obnoxious.

The rest of the day will be spent preparing for my numerous finals. I guess I'll try memorizing the rest of my monologue so I can polish it tomorrow.

SEUSSICAL!

I saw Seussical tonight at Mira Costa and it was fantastic! I love this show and it's my second time seeing it in one month (once before at CLO South Bay). More on it tomorrow, I am off to bed!

PALEYFEST!!!

Okay, I am for sure going to Paley Fest!!! WOOHOO, here is some info http://www.paleycenter.org/paleyfest2010-premium-packages
Well I am SUPER EXCITED. I mean, I don't have tickets yet, but I will, oh I will. Just wanted to let you know.

One GLEEK,
Grant

Oh Well

Today was a pretty uneventful day. Rain, rain, rain. I stepped in a huge puddle and my whole shoe was submerged under water.... That made me pretty mad. Also, you know the feeling when people are talking behind your back? They give you that look when you say something like, "Oh see, look at this loser I told you he would do that." I think it's pretty stupid. If we are working together on something, don't be mean.

Since my amazing friend KRISTY read this, I am gonna say hi to her and tell her I want a cake!!!

Also, I watched the rest of Monday's episode of 24 and the writers are so creative on that series. That is one show I'd love to work on. Off to be lazy and lounge around since I have basically no homework today.

GLEE

Okay, had to update this again today! Glee is coming on tour! VERY EXCITED. And Glee is going to be at PaleyFest '10. I probably won't make it there, but the tour is a for sure!!! WOOHOO

Homework, Homework, Homework

I feel like all I do all day is homework! I have to write 6 pages, single spaced, about algebra. I have no idea what to put. I am just like completely copying from the book. Mrs. Dugard is taking our notes so like what are we supposed to study from for finals?!? I just am not a big fan of that class right now.

English class is going pretty well. It's a nice escape after the grueling hour and a half spent in Room 5106. I like who I sit next to and all, which is pretty nice. Our final is just an essay, so no big deal. Drama. Our final is in one week and I have not gotten my monologue yet. It is supposed to be emailed to me tonight, so I am looking forward to finally seeing it.

My chem final is stressing me out a lot. She is gonna give us our grades the next day, which is good, but we won't know what it is out of until Thursday after school.... LAME. This is also my last week in 5th period Drumline. Next semester I am going to 5th period PE. I think this coming semester is gonna be somewhat of a fresh start for me, and I'm looking forward to it.

THE WEATHER!!! Tornado warnings, flooding, lightning. Schools are not built for the rain. Hallways get flooded and way too crowded for anybody to walk through, it just is not fun. Also, 24 has been amazing so far! I am looking forward to the rest of the season.

COMEDY SPORTZ! I guess I haven't mentioned it, but I joined this great cult known as Comedy Sportz this year, it's an improv team and our club competes throughout the year. Here is a link to find out more http://www.comedysportzla.com/

Black Outs, Monopoly, and Homework, oh my!

Today was a pretty crazy day to say the least. I got up and did so much homework! I did 4 pages of chemistry and wrote an entire essay. But while I was doing that, we had three different black outs. The first two only lasted about 15 minutes, but the last one lasted like 45 minutes. So I was off the internet that whole time (which is probably why I finished my essay so quickly).

Then I went to see my neighbor, Alex. We played a few board games and then we spent forever playing Monopoly. I admit, I have a love hate relationship with that game. It starts out fun, and then it lasts like twenty hours. It's awful. I was the first one out :[

I came home and did some more homework..... it sucks basically. I'm gonna head back over to Alex's later, then come back and do some homework and start this season of 24! Sound exciting?

GLEE and AVATAR!! What a day!

I saw Avatar today and I LOVED it! I must admit, I thought it was going to be about the cheesy Nickelodeon series, but it had no connection whatsoever. I saw it in Real3D, which was so great in itself. James Cameron is amazing and such a talented guy. I loved the concept and I hope I can see it again when it comes out on DVD. Also, I got some really fun glasses in the movie and I popped the lenses out and now they are my GEEK glasses :]

CONGRATS to GLEE for Winning Best TV Series Comedy/Musical at the Golden Globes tonight! You are such a great show to watch and you deserved it.

Theater Saturday: Week 1

I just got home from some musical theater classes today that went from 11:30 to 3:45. Pretty tired, but I still have a long weekend ahead of me. I got the song If My Friends Could See Me Now from Sweet Charity, and even though it is a girl's song, the two boys in our class are still working it. Tomorrow is my grandma's birthday and a BSA National Jamboree meeting. This 3 day weekend is busy for me!

The Life as One Geek

HEY!

It's me, Grant. I'm a huge geek. Not a loser, not a freak, just a geek. I LOVE theater and drama and acting. I used to love science, but now it gets on my nerve. I hope to go to college for something to do with acting. You'll probably read about tons of stuff on here, I tend to get sidetracked. You'll probably hear lots of complaining, and a lot about Grease (the musical at my school). Maybe you'll hear more, maybe less.

BYE!
